HENDERSON, William M.

WILLIAM M. HENDERSON, is one of Crawford county's boys, and he was born in Oil Creek township, about three miles from Titusville, February 5th, 1816. He lived on a farm as boy and received a common school education. His life was passed as a farmer and lumberman, the latter being abandoned in 1862. In 1868 he removed to Titusville, where he since has resided. Mr. Henderson was School Director in Oil Creek township, and was United States Assistant Assessor of the Eastern part of Crawford county, from September, 1862 to March, 1868. He became a member of the Titusville Board of School Directors in 1869 and continued until 1874. June 22d, 1877, he was City Treasurer, and in February, 1878, was re-elected, and still holds that office.
