MILLER, Dency NEWTON
MRS. M.C. MILLER DIES VERY SUDDENLY
Fell Dead Yesterday Morning at A.P.Cooley Home.
Yesterday morning Mrs. M.C.Miller of La Grange, Ill., who was a guest at the home of A.P.Cooley, East Walnut Street, died very suddenly. Mrs. Miller had been ailing for some months, and in January came east, hoping that the change might work some improvement. She seemed much better of late and Wednesday and Thursday was about the house and even visited her sister, Mrs. Sarah Wilson of North Kerr street, yesterday morning the family had no premonition of Mrs. Miller's death and it was not until breakfast was ready that she was called. When a member of the family entered the room, Mrs. Miller was found lying on the floor.
She had risen and had partially dressed herself when the fatal attack came. She had been seen by her mother, Mrs. Deborah Newton, a few minutes before and at that time she was asleep. It is certain that the end came almost instantly. Drs. W.G. Johnston and M.V.Hazen were called, but found that Mrs. Miller was beyond all help.
Mrs. Miller whose maiden name was Miss Dency Newton, was the daughter of William F. and Deborah Newton. She was born at Newtontown on Oct. 10, 1855. She lived in this city until about thirty years ago, when she went to Illinois.
Twenty-seven years ago she was united in marriage to M.C.Miller, the ceremony being performed at Sterling, Ill.
To this union two daughters were born. They are Miss Verna and Miss Alice Miller, who, with their father, survive to mourn the loss of a devoted mother. She also leaves her aged mother, Mrs. Deborah Newton, one brother H.D.Newton, and one sister, Mrs. Sarah Wilson, all of this city.
Mrs. Miller was an earnest Christian woman, a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and a woman who had endeared herself to a wide circle of friends. her sudden death was a deep shock to her relatives and will be learned by her friends with sincere regret.
Mr. Miller and his daughters are expected to arrive in the city today and pending their arrival no funeral arrangements have been made.
