GEHR - Marie A. Gehr departed from this life in Summit tp., Crawford co., Pa., Sept. 23rd, aged 58y., 9 m., and 3 days.
Sister G embraced religion about 4 years ago and united with the Evan. Asso'n. during which time she served her Heavenly Master, although through great opposition, from the fact that her husband and most of her children are professed infidels. She bore her affliction over a year, with Christian fortitude, and five weeks before her departure she made a choice of funeral text, 2 Cor.5:1, and two hymns, to be sung at the funeral and also selected the writer to officiate, and then said to those present. "Oh how happy I shall be with my Heavenly Master, when you sing the hymns selected, and listen to my funeral sermon." May God comfort the bereaved. --A.R. Teats
